As Roger is a serving Parish Councillor in Linton he is unable to get involved with any debates on the subject of the wind farm but he has been actively discussing planning policy issues with South Cambridgeshire District Council. Since the Wadlow Wind Farm application was refused last year, a new policy has been adopted by South Cambridgeshire District Council.
Policy NE/2 Renewable Energy states: The District Council will grant planning permission for proposals to generate energy from renewable sources, subject to proposals according with the development principles set out in Policies DP/1 and DP/2 and complying with the following criteria:
1. The proposal can be connected efficiently to existing national grid infastructure unless it can be demonstrated that energy generation would be used on-site to meet the needs of a specific end user;
2. The proposal makes provision for the removal of the facilities and reinstatement of the site, should the facilities cease to be operational.
The LDF also states small groups of turbines are acceptable development.
What is your view on this application? Please let Roger know your opinion – both for and against the application and any concerns you might have.
