When we heard the news that the current police station in Linton was to close due to the sale of the police houses, our first reaction was that this was an opportunity to bring the police more into the village of Linton rather than have them stuck out on the periphery. Having asked the opinion of a number of villagers, it is clear that many people feel the same, and the favoured suggestion is to re-locate at the Fire Station. This would make them more accessible to Linton residents and also to those from other villages.

What must now be done is ensure that the new "police presence" is a significant and permanent, and we shall be fighting to make sure this is the case.
