Being proactive rather than reactive is very important, especially when it affects the security of our villages.

Following the snow and icy weather the villages suffered when it rained heavily during snow melt. Residents, some who had lived through the flooding in the 60's as well as the 2001 floods were very concerned as the river rose rapidly in the early hours of Monday morning, and sadly some properties did experience flooding.

It was brought to our attention that the Environment Agencies flood alerts for the Granta did not appear to be working correctly that morning and we are currently investigating why.
